UR HUYE CAMPUS: Five highlights of the 'Isango and Music Awards'

The concert preceding the ceremony of the 'Isango na Muzika Awards’ was again held at UR Huye Campus. Artists including Kenny Edwin, Bushali, and Bwiza performed.

UR HUYE CAMPUS: Five highlights of the 'Isango and Music Awards'

This pre-show for the 'Isango na Muzika' Awards, held at the University of Rwanda, Huye Campus on Saturday evening, November 16th, 2024, featured coldness, many chills and dance moves from artists.

After performing in Musanze District at the University of Rwanda, Busogo Campus, the 'Isango na Muzika Awards shows organized by Isango Star Media Agency, continued in Huye District at the University of Rwanda, in the 'Main Auditorium' building.

The artists who were waiting to perform and also did their gigs: Kenny Edwin, Bwiza, Bushali, and upcoming artists from the University of Rwanda, Huye Campus, including NJD Rumuri.

There are five highlights of the show:

1. It's a show preceded by rain, which makes the fans cold

These performances are held in November, which is the rainy season. On the day of the concert, which was a Friday, it rained as partygoers and those who were ready to hear about the awards delayed their arrival at the Main Auditorium.

After the rain subsided at 5 pm, they came in large numbers to fill the building.

Although they are, the first artists not shown love to raise their hands, the audience continued to be affected by the cold and not so warm.

 2. It is a show attended only by students of the University of Rwanda

This is the second time that this pre-show for the Isango and Music Awards has been held, which is mostly held at the university.

The show that took place at the University of Rwanda, Huye Campus followed the one that took place in Busogo.

Only students who have been granted free admission attended the show.

Emphasizing that they were only students, no one who was not a student or working at the University of Rwanda was allowed to enter the entrance of the university.

Kalex, who is part of the group that organizes the 'Isango na Muzika; shows and awards,’ spoke about why they went to university.

 "We are announcing these awards and raising awareness among young people about HIV/AIDS. If you see that we have other information that includes AIDS, young people, beware,’ he said.

“We are still starting, but as we continue to prepare it, we will try it in other parts of the rural area; a meeting place for many different people, including children, youth, and adults,’ he added.

 3. Bwiza confirmed that she is going to release a new song 'Best Friend'

Bwiza was the second artist to perform, after Kenny Edwin. The singer did her best to fight the cold through her songs including; Do Me, Exchange, and Ogera. When she realized that there were people who showed her love, she revealed the song that she is about to release, 'Best Friend.'

Meanwhile, in an interview with the media, Bwiza confirmed that there was a song she collaborated on with The Ben and that is why social media users would see short videos on those sites showing the two enjoying the song.

4. Mc Tino performed the song ‘Plenty’ of The Ben

 After Bwiza left the dance floor waiting for Bushali to perform, Mc Tino told the DJ to play The Ben's song 'Plenty.'

MC Tino took the opportunity to introduce himself to the audience by confirming is the one who helped The Ben in his song ‘Plenty’ then after he let the DJ played the song and when his voice came on, he sang in harmony and he did it.

In an interview with 'Igisubizo.com', he returned to the song, saying: "The Ben finished making the song, when I heard it, I immediately suggested that I add my voice to it to make it taste better!"

“He agreed and I did it and it came out like that. I feel like I've made a positive contribution,” he revealed.

5. Bushali left the dance floor to the dismay of music lovers

He has done his best to please music lovers especially the youths who are in love with 'Kinya Trap'.

He ended by singing to the fans of his music who did not want him to end, it was evident that people liked his songs including: Mukwaha, Kugasima and Ipafu.

Finally, the time to leave the dance came and he quickly left, reaching the car.  He then moved to Kigali, as he had a concert there.

The 'Isango na Muzika (IMA) Awards’ will be presented for the fifth time on December 22, 2024, at the Kigali Convention Centre building.
