Bruce Melodie deletes post mocking The Ben and Muyoboke after public backlash
Rwandan singer Bruce Melodie has deleted an Instagram post in which he appeared to mock fellow artist The Ben and music promoter Muyoboke Alex, following widespread criticism from social media users.
The post featured two video clips: one showing The Ben falling on stage during a recent performance in Bugesera, and another showing Muyoboke Alex collapsing during a press conference in 2025. Bruce Melodie captioned the videos with a sarcastic reference to the pair as "Mugwaneza na Rugwiro" and added the message: "On July 4, 2026, the plan is to fall together!"
The post quickly sparked criticism, with many fans arguing that it was inappropriate for an artist of Bruce Melodie's stature to ridicule his colleagues. Others urged him to remove the post and avoid fueling the long-standing rivalry between him and The Ben.
As the criticism intensified, Bruce Melodie deleted the post from his Instagram account.
The controversy comes just days after The Ben fell on stage while performing in Bugesera during the third stop of his Summer Country Tour 2026. Meanwhile, Muyoboke Alex had also collapsed during a press conference in December 2025 held to promote the New Year Groove 2026 concert.
Many social media users interpreted Bruce Melodie's post as another attempt to provoke The Ben ahead of the final show of the Summer Country Tour, which is scheduled to take place in Rubavu District on July 4, 2026.
The tour began in Musanze on June 13, continued to Nyagatare on June 20, then Bugesera on June 27, and is set to conclude in Rubavu on July 4, 2026.
